A journey into the sky with the mythical bird of the Alps, the bearded vulture. More than 30 years after the launch of the programme to reintroduce the bearded vulture to the Alps, mankind is continuing its efforts to conserve this emblematic species in the mountain ecosystem. Thanks to the cooperation of the Alpine nature parks and the respect now shown by mountain users, the firebird is gradually reclaiming its lost territories. Each birth is an additional chance of survival for this large, fragile and threatened vulture. We set off to discover it and follow its adventure alongside mankind.

"This beautiful documentary is devoted to the success of an emblematic conservation project: that of the bearded vulture. A victim of intensive hunting, this bird of prey disappeared from the Alps at the beginning of the 20th century. Reintroduced in the 1980s, it is still there thanks to the cooperation of the Alpine national parks and the respect now shown by mountain users.
Des Gypaètes et des Hommes or when man makes amends for his mistakes and becomes a creator and protector of biodiversity."
