In love with the great outdoors, a city-dweller decides to settle in the Ecrins massif. Lonely and adventurous, he takes a poetic and questioning look at the evolution of mountain life. His grandson, whom he has never seen before, comes to visit him one fine summer afternoon. This meeting gives rise to moments of complicity that enable the grandfather to pass on to the child his passion for this grandiose, unspoilt land.
